In need of a miracle at age 20?
I have always paid all my bills and credit cards on time. I had one American Express Card and my brother got sick (he has cystic fibrosis), our dad passed away and our mom wasnt able to pay any of his bills, so I ran up $ 3,000.00 on that card to pay some of his medical bills. Still, I was paying the monthly minimum on that card but then they requested to have the full balance paid at once. Of course, I couldnt do that so the account went deliquent and they turned the account over to a collection agency. I have a good job and I try to pay what I can when I can, but the collections agency has been calling my work and requesting the FULL amount, I'm scared I'm gonna get fired for these harassing calls at my place of employment, and If that happens, I wont be able to pay anything! My question is, has anyone been in this situation, and what do you do?? I dont have much guidance from my mother, and I'm so lost!! I think I'm out of options, and my only chance is a miracle
I am a debt collector so I can tell you this with absolute certainty......Any one, including you, at your place of employment can tell the collections agency not to call there any more. It is against the law to call a persons place of employment once they have been told not to. It can be you or the cleaning lady or any one. If any one at your POE tells them not to call any more then they must remove the telephone number from their data base and can not call it again. But make sure you are not wishy washing about it and say something like "I wish you wouldn't call me here any more." Be firm and clear...."DO NOT CALL HERE AGAIN AND REMOVE THIS NUMBER FROM YOUR DATABASE!" Forget being polite.....
Personally, I wish more people would do that because I MUST call all the telephone numbers available on every account. And I HATE calling people's place of employment. It usually does not result in getting a payment which is a waste of my time and I feel bad about having to do it.

It has long been an "everybody knows" that as we age, our brains shrink. That we are all doomed to a future of remorselessly shrinking brains has been one of those ghastly but apparently inevitable "facts of life" that we have all had to live with and can do nothing about.

In other words, your brain does not HAVE to shrink. It most likely won't if you stay well-nourished, healthy, clear of street drugs, prescription drugs and alcohol and mentally stimulated and all these things are under your ability to determine.
