Question about an expression for a line?
If x is not equal to zero and the slope of the line that passes through (x,x) and (3x, y) is 1, what is an expression for y in terms of x? Please explain. Thank you!

what's the equasion for slope? (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) substitute in your values for the proper x and y parts of the points given, and set the equasion equal to one; after that, just rearrange the equasion to make it y=whatever.

edit: or just do what ashley did ^.^ but MY way can be used to solve any other problem with any x and y coordinates. Hers is specific for this problem =P

I am a Type 3. In my world that means my true nature is to be active, reactive, swift, push forward towards results, dynamic, and go for it big.
This is something my mother never new about me.
If she had known this she might have put me on a swim team when I was 6 years old so I could naturally express my very physically active, competitive nature.
Due to the dysfunction (which everyone in my age group comes from) of my home, I defaulted a lot to my secondary Energy Type, Type 4. Stillness became my dominant expression in my family environment. Quite the opposite of who I truly am!
I see signs and clues all through my childhood and teen years that I squeezed in my true expression often enough to not totally abandon it, because I believe you never can, but very rarely was it expressed around my family. I only started to shame the heck out of it, since I took on the belief as I created it being mirrored back to me that who I truly am is inappropriate. I have spent years claiming my power back from that core reference of shame.
I am on my way now! Life is good, I am living true to my nature bigger than I ever have. One way I do that is to be very active and even competitive.
Even before I had come up with the whole Type 3 thing and the 4 Energy Types, I was deeply moved to start running marathons at age 44. This was in 2001. It was the biggest physcial challenge I had ever taken on in my life. I truly believed at the time that it was impossible for me to run 26.2 miles. It was over the top crazy to think I could accomplish that feat. But, somewhere deep inside me a voice said you must try and you can. After 8 months of grueling training, experiencing life changing success along the way (like the first time I ran 14 miles), and tapping out a lot fears and I can'ts, I finished my first marathon in June 2001.
It was an epiphany for me. I literally wept the entire last mile of the race and broke down in to sobs as I crossed the finish line. Little did I know at the time was that I was beginning to tap in to the truth of who I am and how I am designed to live life.
True to my Type 3 nature to get a bit obsessed and then burn out, I went on to run 15 more marathons in the next 4 1/2 years. When I burned out, I was just done and have felt no motivation to do another one.
I still honor my very physically active nature by competing in Sprint distance triathlons. To date I have competed in 16 triathlons. I am watching myself as I know my tendency is to overdo it and burn out and stop. This awareness helps me keep it in check. For example last year my goal was to do 8 triathlons between April to November, one a month. I succeeded at my goal, and had a blast doing it. This year I am doing 4 between May and Sept. I have one more to go!
Energy Profiling has been a critical key in supporting me in living my truth.
Many people who discover their true nature are realizing they have not lived in honor of it most of their life. I hear the question a lot, "Carol, now that I know I am a Type ....., how do I live true to my nature when I haven't most of my life?"
The answer is easy, it will just happen. Don't make it the job of your intellect to try and figure out how to just BE you. Your awareness is the key to it unfolding and expressing naturally as YOU. All you have to do in your thinking mind is notice how much you judge the heck out of it, and every time you do, feel how crappy that makes you feel, own it as your creation and now tell the truth about who you are and the gifts you bring to the human experience.
Your true nature, your natural expression is embedded deeply within you. It always has been there. Knowing your a Type 1, 2, 3, or 4 does not make you that, it was there before you had this reference. All Energy Profiling does is bring an incredible amount of clarity to your natural gifts, tendencies, behavior, personality, and physical features. Clarity to the innate nature of you.
It's easy, it's natural, and there is nothing to "figure" out in BEING you. Trust the process.
