over drying reaction to neutrogena acne products?
i just bought neutrogena's stress control power-foam cleanser along with the 3-in-1 hydrating acne gel that it comes with. it seemed to be working fine for a couple days until my skin started getting all itchy and dry. i usually only get acne on my t-zone but i put it all over my face just to prevent acne. its like theres a small rash around my cheeks and chin but you cant see it. its just really rough. could this be an allergic reaction or overdrying of the skin? and what should i do about it?
Try to use the product less, like only once a day, and don't use both at once. Then you can try to work your way up to more applications. This may just be an initial reaction. In the meantime, moisturize with a sensitive skin moisturizer, like cetaphil to sooth skin. If you are still getting the irritation, the product may be too strong for you and you should just stop using it. Don't put the gel on areas with the rash, as some areas of face are naturally drier than others and more sensitive, especially cheeks and around nose and mouth.

Are you afraid to wear sleeveless shirts or tube tops because you are embarrassed that your armpits are several shades darker than the rest of your body? You are definitely not alone! Many women suffer from dark underarms caused by a variety of reasons.
Excessive sweating is a possible cause, particularly in the warm regions.
However, this could also be the case for women who like to wear skintight tops or blouses. Very tight blouses also result in continuous friction between the cloth and the armpit, thus further darkening the skin.
Many people think exposure to sunlight is the only reason melanin clumps. Obviously, underarm skin seldom sees the sun, so UV rays are not a cause of underarm color. However, tanning with arms raised will make dark underarms deepen.
Underarm whitening is the process of lightening dark underarms so that the underarm skin appears lighter, and brighter. While there are multiple ways to diminish dark underarms, including using methods such as applying lemon juice, a more effective method is to purchase a topical underarm whitening cream or gel.
For that stubborn underarm stain, here are possible remedies:
Gently scrub once a week with St. Ives Apricot Scrub to remove accumulated dead skin buildup, deodorant, sweat and other impurities that may contribute to dark armpits.
There is no need to spend money in those expensive underarm whitening clinics & spas. Most oft these are very expensive and tedious beauty sets that that consume hours of your day. Instead you can use some basic and natural underarm whitening products & creams. One among these is Meladerm. It comprises of all natural ingredients that help in minimizing skin tanning and makes it look more white & fresh. It is also known to have no side effects.
When ever you get time, may be on the weekends rub the underarms with coconut oil.
You should avoid any underarm whitening creams that include Hydroquinone and instead look for safer ingredient alternatives such as Alpha Arbutin and Kojic Acid. These ingredients will help prohibit new skin from developing pigment which is why they are effective in underarm whitening creams and gels.
Keep them Clean - Perhaps the most effective example of how to whiten dark underarms is to change your deodorant habits. Since the dark coloration is caused by a combination of sweat and the products used to stop it, it is a good idea to change to a more hypoallergenic soap and deodorant. You may also want to switch from antiperspirant, which blocks pores, to a deodorant-only product and use talcum powder to absorb sweat.
Drinking water is extremely important for hydrating your body. You should drink at least 10-12 glasses of water daily for cleaning your digestive tract, which will consequently reduce melanin pigments in your body.
Wear pure cotton. Always avoid wearing synthetics in the summers.
Wax the underarms regularly. It removes the dead skin cells and cuts tanning.
You should exfoliate the skin in your armpit for inhibiting the production of melanin in your body. You can use a good scrub twice a week for attaining a spot less under arms.
So these are some ways to reduce the darkness of the underarms.
