problems with patricia wexler products??

i got a free .5 oz patricia wexler MMPi 20 skin regenerating serum from bath and body works (p.w. is the dermatologist that's on oprah etc...) i washed my face last night with my usual cleanser and then i put on the p.w. serum like the container indicated, and 30 mins later my face was so red that it was almost purple and felt like it was on fire! it went down my neck, my ears, and a place on my arm. needless to say i freaked out. i washed it off with dove unscented soap (what my dermatologist recommends everyone use), which seemed to make it worse before it got better. within 2 hrs my face looked normal again but still burnt a little. i've never considered myself to have sensitive skin (i've had no troubles with any products i've put on my face before this, and i'm 28!) i didn't eat anything new or unusual that day so i know it wasn't anything that i ingested. i know that this was an allergic reaction but it really scared me. anyone else had problems with p.w. products??

I have also broken out using the very same serum. It's similar to an enzyme peel. It is getting rid of the dead skin cells. There are more natural-based peels available. If you are interested, Arbonne has one made from pineapple and papaya that is much better for sensitive skin. In fact, it is recommended for sensitive skin. I find Wexler's products to be full of harsh chemicals and I have no interest in that.
