Makeup to Hide Acne

However I'm afraid that putting makeup on a very scarred or rough skin caused by cysts or pimples wont do much good to shield your condition. Rough, bumpy and cyst covered patches of skin are all too common in most cases of acne.

When you have mild scarring, most foundations and concealers will cover it up, but when you have deep scarring, you may want to think about getting laser treatment. Although it can get expensive, it may be worth the cost for your own peace of mind. You shouldn't let your acne get you down too much, but sometimes a little rejuvenation will give you just the boost you need.

Choosing the right concealers and foundations is also very important. Make sure you use oil free and non-comedogenic products. Look for these words in the labels and dont purchase or use if you don't see them.

Products that are oil-free and non-comedogenic are an asset to companies and they will usually proudly display them. These products are best because they will allow your pores to breathe rather than clog them. When you choose oily foundation, you will clog your pores and it will get worse.

Although makeup is not what causes acne, it can contribute to clogging your pores with oil and bacteria. Oil free products are water based and will allow your skin to purge oils from your body.

Makeup products are available today that are solely for covering scars. This makeup is normally very thick, and yet still non-comedogenic. They can be found at most good department stores. I recommend you try out a few products first and go with which seems to work best for your skin type.

If you have really oily skin, you may want to try a powder or mineral foundation. Powder foundation will naturally blot the oil from your skin, giving your skin a more even tone.

If you have sensitive skin, you should search for products aimed directly at people with sensitive skin. There is no shortage of these products and many exist also with acne curing properties.
