What happens if you indoor tan without using a lotion?

I was using sample packets but there 8 dollars per packet & I just ordered a bottle online. But can I tan today without using a lotion?

Of course! Indoor tanning lotions do help your skin to tan but are not by any means necessary. Certain tanning lotions help stimulate your melanin, others use DHA as a bronzer and some have tingle factors that increase the blood flow to your top layer of skin.

However, any lotions MAIN purpose is to moisturize your skin so that it is better able to absorb the UVA and UVB rays. Moisturized skin always tans better than dry skin so as long as youre moistured all that extra stuff is just that - extra.

Put a really good lotion as soon as you get out of the shower or before you go to the bed and youll be fine!

PS - They may tell you differently in the salon or beat around the bush about whether or not you NEED their lotion..the truth is they make something called commission off of your purchases. This means the more product they sell, the more they get paid.
