When it comes to our skin we often find ourselves neglecting it. For as often as we see our own skin you would think that we would be taking better care of it. We see it day in and day out and yet it is often the last part of our health that we think of. It is one of the few organs those around us ever get to see and so we want to make sure we are keeping it as healthy looking as possible. Here are some very general tips on how to care for your skin. It is important to know though that this is only a starting point.
Caring for the skin around the eyes isn’t a new topic. Women (and now, men) have been looking for solutions to their eye skin care problems for generations.
As organic skin care grows in popularity, people are starting to realize just how unhealthy mainstream make up, lotions and basic heath items are. With this awareness has come a mounting alarm that these products are not FDA regulated and manufacturers can get away with using a lot of additives that pharmaceutical companies cannot. As a result, potentially life threatening chemicals are being placed in everyday items like baby oil, lotions and creams putting consumers at risk.
Exposing your skin to chemicals is not only hazardous but unnecessary. Many people in the construction business found that their livers were damaged when they handled lumber that had been treated. Of course, the wood was not consumed, the workers only touched it. This prolonged and repeated action of touching the lumber that was coated with arsenic played havoc with their bodies. Your body’s largest organ is your skin. Knowing this we have to ask ourselves this question – “Are we really safe when we repeatedly use chemical based skin care products?”
